2nd Year Portfolio

The above 4 drawing consist of, going from top left clockwise,- a warrior type person with eagle wings, a businessman in a suit with multiple tails protruding behind him. A rouge type character with reptile spikes protruding from the shoulders, and finally a monk type character with a scaled body.

Above is a drawing of a warrior character in armor and holding a sword and shield. Later went over in fine liner and added detail to the cloth on his arm and around his legs. This is an artist reproduction, and i think i have done well with what I achieved with this image. If i were to go back carry this on, i would add colour to the image, maybe using water colours witha very fine brush.
Above is a drawing form a top view of the lower half body of a wasp. On the wings, on the inside lines, i faintly rubbed them away to get a sort of tansparent effect. If i could, i would go back and put more detail into the image, and the back is very bland in detail, and make some progress in netening up the enitre image, and maybe even add the rest of the insect.

This is a concept design of a character, it came straight out of my head so i wasnt expecting it to be great. If i had spent more time on it i would have refined it, adding a face and fixing the arms is what i would have done next. I think the main problem i had with this drawing is the proportions of the legs compares to torso and arms. Aswell as getting the head the right size, i had tried a few time to get it right, but couldnt do so in the end.

This is a drawing of a moth, the subject came from a museum trip that my class went on. I used pencil, and to get the pattern on the wings i shaded the wings and used a rubber to get a more accurate design. If i were to go back and do this again, i would have rushed the image and try to get more detail into the wings.

This is a basic drawing of a frog, the sbuject of which was in a musuem that my class wen on a trip to. It very besic in concept with hardly any detail, the reason i did this was because the details on the frog were to fine, and i only had a limited time to draw the subject. So if i could go back and draw it again i would take my time with it, making sure the tailes stand out.

Above is a pen drawing of a duck in a bed of water. based off an already existing artist. If i were to do this again, I would have worked more into the ducks beak and body portion to make the lines flow cleaner.  Also even tho i am happy with the water lines i created, what i could have done is put more of a bend into them to make the waves more realistic.

Clay model Evaluation

Clay Model Work

I had an idea for a clay model from the research I did. Overall I am happy with the model I made, however I do think that there are some improvements to be made, for example, the wings that extend outwards could have been more smooth, the top of them is bumpy and on the inner part of the wings it is cracked so what I could do with is going back over it in clay to make it more stable and look more professional.

In the animation itself the bird I wasn’t able to animate very easily. As the wings were constantly cracking because they were unsupported, what I could have done is added metal wire to the wings which would help them keep stable, also adding more clay to the weaker parts would have helped as well. The animation was a basic idea, the bird flying over and taking a frog away, Overall im happy with the result, although there are areas that could have been improved. Linking this back to the research, the research assignment part helped me in deducing what was required to make this animation look good,  and correctly flow between the frames of the animation.

In the end, the bird looked how it should have looked, with a few minor adjustments needed to make it perfect, however in the future i would like to add detail into the bird, givinjg it faint trails for leaves and other areas, also i would like to paint the bird to add a more real touch to it and after  that it will look as good as it will get.
