Insect Animations research

A Bug's Life is a 1998 American computer-animated comedy-adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and directed by John Lasseter. The film did well to transition from storyboards to the 3d development of the film.

Creature Comforts was originally a 1989 British humorous animated short film about how animals feel about living in a zoo, featuring the voices of the British public "spoken" by the animals. It was created by Nick Park and Aardman Animations.

Bug's Race - 3d animation short made by a pair of Polish students from PJWSTK - Ania Ellert and Andrzej Ellert.
Film was inspired by 3d animated movies like Pixar's Bug's Life, Finding Nemo, and Dreamworks' Shrek or Madagascar.
It tells a story of a race for domination over the meadow. Funny gags and fast action.

Insect Drawing Evaluations

The subject is, a beetle, the media used is stick & ink, I think that I could have worked more in the piece, and in future studies I think I should take more time working on it, as the shading I have rushed which in my opinion ruined the picture.
The subject is two birds, in a water colour study; I think that at first I rushed the piece as the first bird didn’t really work out well, however I look more time along the way, and I think the second bird is better. More time should have been spent on the entire piece rather than slowing my process down halfway.
The subject is part of a fly, it a sketch and it think I did okay with this piece, I could have spent more time neatening up the lines, I also could have emphasised the hair of the fly more with shading. If I were to do this again I would look more at the subject to get more detail.
My subject piece is a part of the beetle, made with pastels to try and get a smooth grading effect on the beetle, I think I did  well with this piece, although in my opinion I could have neaten up the transition between different colours.
The butterfly wing subject that I sketch I believe isn’t that good compared to my other work, if I were to do it again, I would put more attention to the detail in the wing.
The goat sketch I did with pencil I did not do particularly well. If I were to do it again, I would probably spend way more time than I originally did, I am not happy with this piece whatsoever
The butterfly subject, I sketched with pencil, again I do not feel I did well on because I didn’t take any care for it, if I were to go back I would take more time on it while paying more attention to the detail of the body and wings. I feel i didn’t put as much attention to them as I needed to.
The swan study I did I think I did well on, I found it particularly hard to get the right angle with its neck but I was able to figure it out, if I were to go back I would have drawn the subject much bigger with more detail.
The duck study I did, I am reasonably happy with, it was a pencil sketch, I believe that if I were to do it again I would focus on the feather of the bird, and the shades of them as well.

The subject in this a part of a butterfly wing, I sketched it out with a pencil, I don’t believe I did well with this piece, I believe if I did it again I would do the shading neater, and try not to rush it as much next time.

The elongated bird sketch piece, I am not happy with, I can see now that I look back at it, I spend little time on it, if I was to do it in the future I would take my time, carefully put in the detail of the bird and the way it is presented standing on a branch I did not preserve well.

The two beetles on a branch study, I did as a pencil sketch, I am fairly happy with, considering I had just started getting back into drawing, I think I did well for a sketch. If I were to go back and do it again I would take more time and care into it, it is obvious I rushed this work, I also would put as much bold lines as I did.
